2025 Plan & Budget
Council & Committee of the Whole Meetings
Council meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month. Committee of the Whole meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month.
In the case where the normal Council meeting date falls on a holiday, the meeting is held the following Tuesday.
Requests to make a presentation to Council must be received by noon (12:00pm) on the Thursday preceding the Council/Committee of the Whole meetings (4 business days before the Council meeting).
Council/Committee of the Whole meeting locations are alternated monthly between the St. Martins Community Centre (73 Main Street) and the Simonds Fire Department (184 Range Road).
Council Meeting: A Council Meeting is the formal decision-making meeting of the municipality. This is where motions are voted on, bylaws are passed, and official actions are taken. Council Meetings follow a set agenda and are open to the public, with minutes recorded for transparency.
Committee of the Whole Meeting:
A Committee of the Whole meeting is a less formal session where all members of council meet to review, discuss, and explore topics in detail before any formal decisions are made. It's often used for presentations, budget discussions, and early-stage policy reviews. No final decisions are made at this meeting—recommendations are brought forward to the next Council Meeting for approval.
