The Village of Fundy-St. Martins is sharing two public notices regarding proposed planning changes for the municipality. A public hearing to consider objections to both proposals will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at Simonds Fire Hall, 184 Range Road, Saint John.


The documents are attached below and are also available through the Village website under Current Draft By-laws. Copies will also be available for inspection at the Village Office during regular office hours.



PUBLIC NOTICE

VILLAGE OF FUNDY-ST. MARTINS

Fundy-St. Martins Rural Plan Amendment


Public Notice is hereby given that the Village of Fundy-St. Martins Council intends to consider adopting By-law No. 16, a By-law to Amend the Village of Fundy-St. Martins Rural Plan (By-law No. 11).


Council has established a hearing for the consideration of objections to the proposed by-law, pursuant to Section 111 of the Community Planning Act:

Rural Plan Amendment

The Rural Plan Amendment applies to the entirety of the Village of Fundy-St. Martins (Entity 46 created as a result of Local Governance Reform and established on January 1, 2023). The purpose of the amendment is to establish new provisions relating to private streets and public non-maintained roads, update lot requirements, improve administrative requirements and definitions, and make housekeeping amendments to improve clarity and implementation of the Rural Plan.

 

Written Objections

Following the hearing, written objections to the proposed by-law may be submitted to Council during the objection period from November 4 to November 17, 2026. Written objections must be received by the Village Clerk no later than November 17, 2026, and may be submitted by email, mail, or in person. Any person wishing to speak for or against objections raised in relation to the proposed by-law may be heard at the November 3, 2026, hearing.

 

Review of Proposed By-law

Copies of the proposed by-law may be inspected by any interested person during regular office hours at the Village Community Centre, 73 Main Street, Unit 2, Fundy-St. Martins, NB, E5R 1B4 and on the Village website.

Rezoning Proposal

An application has been received to rezone PID 00279919, located on Town Plot Road, from Rural Zone to Resource and Aggregate Extraction Zone. The proposed rezoning would permit the development of a quarry, subject to all applicable provincial approvals and permits.

 

Written Objections

Written objections respecting the proposed by-law may be submitted to the Village Clerk before the hearing for consideration of objections. Any person wishing to speak for or against objections raised in relation to the proposed by-law is entitled to be heard at the hearing on November 3, 2026.
